Timex has teamed up with Japanese fashion brand BEAMS for another exciting collaboration. This time, they’ve reimagined the classic Ironman watch, giving it a sleek, full-metal upgrade in the new TIMEX × BEAMS IRONMAN 8-LAP METAL.
The Timex Ironman was first created in the 1980s for triathletes. It became a cultural icon in the 1990s, notably worn by President Bill Clinton, and has remained a favorite for its functionality and affordability. Over the years, there have been many versions, including a collaboration with The James Brand. With BEAMS on board, the Ironman gets another makeover, featuring a retro-futuristic look that honors its heritage.
This new version keeps the tough, dependable design of the original Ironman but adds a polished touch. The watch features a 39mm stainless steel case, bezel, and bracelet, replacing the previous plastic parts with the more durable metal Indiglo night light, a tougher mineral glass crystal replacing the acrylic, and water resistance up to 100 meters. The bracelet itself is a highlight, with a tapering, seven-link design that mixes brushed and polished finishes. The watch runs on the battery-powered quartz movement that Ironman watches are known for.
The TIMEX × BEAMS IRONMAN 8-LAP METAL retails for around $444 USD. It’s available for pre-order now and will officially be on sale starting June 28th. Exclusively available through BEAMS Japan, you can check out the watch from the official BEAMS website.
