New Balance Releases An Extra Butter-Exclusive 1906A ‘Tech Explosion’ Sneakers

New Balance introduces an Extra Butter-exclusive all-silver 1906A, conceptualized by Creative Director Bernie Gross. The 1906A ‘Tech Explosion’ sneakers’ striking metallic silver silhouette is inspired by the dancefloor and electronic music’s underground scene.

When designing the sneakers, Gross reflected on his connection to 1990s dance music, where he was also a DJ and dancer before he got into the streetwear scene. The shoe has a distinctive design that mirrors the rise of indie DJs, who blended genres, created mixes, and experimented with remixes. It features a double mesh layer, curvilinear synthetic overlays, deconstructed panels, zig stitching, and asymmetrical lacing.

The 1906A ‘Tech Explosion’ marks a comeback of the influence of dance and music in streetwear fashion. Each shoe retails for $170 and can be purchased exclusively at Extra Butter stores or online from October 12th.
