The first trailer for Clint Eastwood’s Sully is finally here. The film tells the story and aftermath of the “Miracle on the Hudson”. On January 15, 2009 pilot Chelsey “Sully” Sullenberger made history when he successfully landed a plane carrying 155 passengers after colliding with a flock of geese, deeming him a national hero. However, it is clear from the trailer that Sullenberger struggled immensely with the aftermath of his heroic act. Sully explores the investigation that followed the miraculous emergency landing and the effect the incident had on the courageous pilot. Tom Hanks stars as Sully, with a stellar performance that has already begun to stir up Oscar buzz. The film will hit theaters September 9 but until then, check out the trailer above.
