Steven Alan for Dockers Fall/Winter 2010

Steven Alan for Dockers Fall/Winter 2010

New York-based designer Steven Alan has teamed up with the king of khakis — Dockers — to deliver a special collaboration for Fall 2010. The capsule collection represents highlights from both brands with khakis from Dockers and shirting from Steven Alan. When discussing Dockers and this co-branded line, Steven Alan said, “I always liked the idea of working with a heritage company and going to the roots of what they’re about and then re-inventing it.” Well, he’s known for doing timeless remakes of classics so it’s no surprise the khakis in this collection, as well as the other pieces, are so well-thought-out and impeccably designed.

We think it’s safe to say this will be one of the most sought-after lines for the fall as it features some well-crafted pieces at a pretty affordable price point. Prices range from $248 for jackets, ties for $48, woven shirts for $148 and a group of khaki pants for $128. Look for the Steven Alan for Dockers collection to start hitting select Barneys stores, as well as the Steven Alan Annex shops sometime in early October.

Alden x Blackbird: Black Sheep Squadron Airman Shoe

Alden x Blackbird: Black Sheep Squadron Airman Shoe

Another mash-up featuring Seattle’s Blackbird retail shop and New England’s Alden shoe company. This time, the duo’s taken inspiration from the simple black dress shoes of standard military dress. “The name itself comes from Baa Baa Blacksheep, a TV series that aired on NBC from 1976 to 1978. As a child born on Pearl Harbor day, our owner, Nicole, loved to watch the show with her father, and marked every birthday with WWII film marathons. A lifelong devotee of Army Navy surplus store shopping, it was a natural choice for Nicole, when it came time to design our Alden collaboration models, to reference the military look and feel she had grown up appreciating.”

Blackbird x Alden Christopherson’s Creamery Milkman Boot

Blackbird x Alden Christopherson's Creamery Milkman Boot

Designed by Blackbird in collaboration with Alden of New England, the Christopherson’s Creamery Milkman Boot brings back memories of a neighborhood icon – the milkman. Inspired by the shiny simple uniform boots that so many delivery drivers wore back in the day when milk and groceries were delivered, the boot pulls additional inspiration from Christopherson’s Creamery, a local Ballard dairy shop, just around the corner from where Blackbird is located today.

Blackbird suggests you polish yours to a high gloss and wear them with sharply tailored trousers, or beat them up, lace them half-way, and wear them with whatever. This boot is cut sharp to accommodate a number of looks and built tough as nails for a life of hard, dedicated service.

Now Available: Band of Outsiders x Barney's No Bunk! No Junk!

Scott Sternberg’s Band of Outsiders has teamed up with Barney’s to bring us an exclusive line called “No Bunk! No Junk!”. It’s a bit more condensed than Outsiders’ Fall lineup, as it looks to hit a few basics, all done in crisp black and white. GQ tells us, “It’s Sternberg’s slightly twisted take on power-dressing: a basic black suit in not-so-basic corduroy; a leather jacket that doesn’t take itself too seriously; and a plaid shirt that’s just…a really great-fitting plaid shirt.” Only six Barneys locations are getting the collection for the holidays.
