Introducing | Apple iPad 2, Available March 11

Introducing | Apple iPad 2, Available March 11Apple finally took the covers off the second coming of their extremely popular iPad tablet. It’s actually been one of their most successful post-PC products to date and with good reason. It’s one of Apple’s more affordable products with a starting price of $499 and it’s super portable. The iPad 2 is lighter and faster than its predecessor and it packs some new features which we’ve been demanding since before the original iPad even dropped. So what’s changed? The design’s been tweaked as the iPad 2 is 33 percent thinner and weighs only 1.3 pounds. The beauty now houses a dual core processor chip dubbed the A5 for up to nine times the performance speeds.

High-end luxury brands are really beginning to take a liking to the iPad with Burberry being the latest to make a case for the high-in-demand Apple product. The zip closure opens up to reveal interior flap for holding papers as well as a cutout leather frame to secure the iPad in place. The Burberry logo is heated in the leather on the front.

Makr Carry Goods iPad Sleeves

Makr Carry Goods iPad Sleeves

Makr delivers the goods once again with their line of iPad cases. Available in a few different finishes, the case is built on the ideas and patterning of their flap wallet but with a hidden cordovan closure instead of the horizontal keeper. To eliminate any screen cracking pressure, the design team did away with button closures and such, and leaving behind only a cordovan tab. Makr’s iPad Case comes in three varieties — black charcoal, mahogany and bark.

Pre-order now and look for these to start shipping out as early as September.

Wired x iPad: The First Issue

Wired x iPad: The First IssueWired x iPad: The First Issue

We caught a preview of what Wired magazine’s iPad app would bring to the tablet a while back and now that it’s available, it’s safe to say that this paper to digital transfer is by far the most creative and interactive. This is not a PDF to App Store port like we’ve been seeing by other mags, instead they started with a clean slate and took advantage of all the features the iPad has to offer. There’s a video after the jump that goes a bit more in depth. The only deterrent here might be the $5 pricetag per issue and with a file size of about half a gig, you’ll have to decide for yourself on this one.
