The folks at J.Crew recently made a studio visit to Golden Bear, craftsman of American-made sportswear since the 1920s. The imagery, captured by New York-based photographer Justin Chung, was captured at Golden Bear Headquarters in San Francisco, CA and showcases some of the inner workings of an iconic brand. Their varsity jackets are impeccably crafted and have been worn by jocks and rockstars and everyone in between. Each jacket is individually cut by hand with all sewing and finishing done manually.

Though varsity jackets are usually made of heavy, durable wool, this visit focused on the making of a J.Crew-exclusive version for women that’s made from a lightweight linen, the first of its kind. Head over to J.Crew for the full story.
