With the World Cup just months away, Nike’s their ground early with the opening of its first football-only store in Brazil, the host country of this year’s tournament. It’s located in the legendary neighborhood of Rio de Janeiro’s Copacabana, and is an all-out three-story retail experience that offers the latest football gear including match-day uniforms, performance products, equipment, and the complete look of football, including sportswear. Nike Copacabana is perfect mix of Brasilian culture and football and leaves out zero details. There’s a synthetic turf pitch and goal post for users to test all available boots, including the brand’s all-new Magista. Carioca graffiti artist and illustrator Mateu Velasco was commissioned to help integrate art and football into the new space, and the results is an immersive work of art that celebrates sports across the store’s three floors.
Nike Copacabana is open now on Nossa Senhora de Copacabana Avenue.
