IWC Releases a Book on the History of The Portuguese

IWC has released a 164-page online book about the history of The Portuguese, arguably their most important collection. The book covers the earliest days of the originally-called Portugieser family, including details like how many examples of the early reference 325 were made in each series, as well as every variation of the Portuguese. One section details the Jubilee models of 1993, which revived the collection.  IWC has also released a 75th anniversary hand-wound 8 days model as this year marks the 75th anniversary of the Portuguese family.  In light of this, it’s a good time to start learning about the collection, especially if you’re interested in owning any timepieces from it. You can read the book on the IWC website. (via Hodinkee)
