Here we have a look at the 2017 BMW Alpina B7 xDrive, the latest work of art from BMW’s favorite tuner. And per usual, they’ve taken what’s already a great BMW in the 7-Series and have turned it into a more powerful and luxurious sedan. Power’s upped to 600 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque, all managed by an eight-speed automatic transmission. This shaves the 0-60 time down to 3.6 seconds with a top speed of 193 mph. Alpina’s also upped the suspension and chassis, delivering Integral Active Steering for the first time. Blend that with Alpina’s Sport+ Mode and you get full control over the B7’s drivetrain and suspension settings to maximum dynamic performance, even lowering ride height by 0.8 inches at the touch of a button. Enhancements like this make one of the Alpina B7 the finest grand touring sedans on the market.
Alpina’s aero work is unparalleled and they’re showing off their skills again. The front and rear spoiler give the B7 a look that can’t be ignored, while also reducing life for maximum comfort and performance. Air flow’s meticulous, with the iconic BMW kidneys being fitted with an integrated air flap control system to further reduce the level of aero drag. Hope inside and you’ll see Nappa leather throughout, ceramic inserts on selected control elements and soft close doors. The new BMW Alpina B7 xDrive also features a full-color Head-Up Display, a rear view camera, updated navi and comm systems, all standard. And Alpina’s detailing can’t be overlooked. Hand-finished details include blue and green stitching on the sports steering wheel, interior trim in Piano lacquer or classic Myrtle Luxury Wood, door sills with blue illumination, and tasteful Alpina B7 insignia inside.
