Deveaux SS17 Captures True Relaxation

Deveaux SS17

Deveaux debuted its Spring/Summer 2017 collection at New York Fashion Week: Men’s and it was a nice breath of fresh air. The brand keeps to its roots by producing a collection that is minimalist yet chic, fashionable yet wearable. Designers Matt Breen, Andrea Tsao and Patrick Doss garnered their inspiration for the line from Greek Islands where elite women, such as Audrey Hepburn and Jackie Kennedy, would venture to, in order to truly capture the essence of an ultimate escape. In line with the concept of true and total relaxation, the silhouettes were delicate, lightweight and airy for ease and functionality.  The collection is a manifestation of “the illumination of the Islands when the sun sets over the Aegean Sea, in tandem with the colors, flow, and brushstrokes of artist Willem de Kooning.” Even the texture of the clothing mirrors the varied landscapes found along the Greek coast, from the use of soft silks and leathers to rougher linens. Nautical themes were present throughout the entire collection, which featured an aquatic color palate that consisted of Sunset Orange, Santorini Blue and Olive Green.
