Needles, the brainchild of owner of Japanese streetwear umbrella company Nepenthes, Keizo Shimuzi, has just unveiled its fall 2016 collection. The line features an eclectic variety of garments that indicate a hybrid of sportswear, heritage workwear, formal wear and military-inspired clothing. There’s a quirkiness in the aesthetic of the looks – a feat common to the Needles brand – that comes from the unique layering and styling of the garments and the intermingling of different textiles, such as leather, denim, corduroy and knitwear. Some notables pieces in the Fall 2016 collection include the denim kimono, the overcoat featuring block patterns of Harris tweed and the tasseled poncho throw-over.
