IKEA Gets Expressive With Per B. Sundberg-designed ‘FÖREMÅL’ Collection

IKEA recently announced that they are partnering with Per B. Sundberg, a Swedish artist, for a limited time collection. It is a maximalist collection, and pretty unlike their usual offerings – skull-shaped vases, kaleidoscope-patterned pillows, bananas, and more. The FÖREMÅL collection, IKEA says, is comprised of many “pretty, ugly, lovely objects”. Each piece is meant to go beyond just a simple function and also start a conversation, with Sundberg artfully blurring the line between beautiful and tacky.

FÖREMÅL will be available in the United States starting in September. While waiting, customers are invited to learn more at IKEA’s official blog.
