Omega has dropped a white gold recreation of the very first Speedmaster to mark the 65th anniversary.
The Omega watch comes equipped with Omega’s recreated 321 manually wound chronograph movement, the 38.6mm Speedmaster Calibre 321 Canopus Gold that’s made with 18K white gold, and special touches such as an Onyx dial. It also has a sapphire crystal case back and a sapphire eye. Sapphire is a material that is traditionally used to mark 65th anniversaries.
The first Speedmaster was the CK2915 and was released in 1957. This watch was used as reference for this design through the use of a vintage Omega logo and typography. The watch is secured with a matching Canopus Gold bracelet and it will be presented in a wooden box inspired by the original Speedmaster boxes. The Speedmaster Calibre 321 Canopus Gold is listed on Omega’s website as “coming soon” and with a pricetag of $81,000 USD. Chances are it’s already spoken for but talking to your Authorized Dealer wouldn’t hurt.
