This is the Jaguar F-PACE SVR Edition 1988, inspired by the brand’s racing success and coming to life thanks to the fine folks at JLR’s Special Vehicle Operations division. Its name and the exclusive number of examples pay homage to the total laps completed by the winning XJR-9 LM at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1988.
Edition 1988 features a bespoke finish with specially-formulated Midnight Amethyst Gloss paint, 22-inch Champagne Gold forged alloy wheels, and exclusive Sunset Gold Satin accents. It also has a laser-etched Edition 1988 logo on each front wing panel.
The standard edition of the vehicle is fitted with F-PACE SVR Black Pack components complemented with Gloss Black finishing on the door mirror caps, wheel center caps, brake calipers, and the letter R on the SVR badge.
Edition 1988 features semi-aniline Ebony leather upholstery and exclusive Sunset Gold Satin finishing across the dashboard, steering wheel spokes, gear shift paddles, and heated and cooled front Performance Seats, adding to the elegant interior of the F-PACE SVR. The Jaguar leaper and horn ring on the steering wheel are finished in Satin Black, while the lighted treadplates and console have discreet SV Bespoke and Edition 1988 marking.
Quick update on the Pivi Pro infotainment system, it is now integrated with what3words so drivers can set destinations using unique three-word strings that correspond to precise locations.
Specialists at Special Vehicle Operations researched and manufactured a complete set of technological upgrades to guarantee that the F-PACE SVR provides a performance-focused driving experience without compromising daily usability. The vehicle is powered by Jaguar’s 550HP 5.0-liter V8 supercharged petrol engine, which can go to 60mph in only 3.8 seconds with a top speed of 178mph.
Edition 1988 will be on display with the 1988 Le Mans-winning XJR-9 at the 24 Hours of Le Mans on June 8-12 and then debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed on June 23-26.
