The 2023 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing is the latest and likely one of the last high-octane, gas-fed performance cars from Cadillac. With the next generation of Cadillac luxury cars set to be electric, we’re holding on tight to the steering wheel of this ground shaking performance sedan.
The 2023 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing four-door RWD sedan runs on a 3.6-liter V6 twin-turbo engine with a choice of either a 10-speed automatic transmission or a 6-speed manual transmission. The 6-speed manual is a great choice if you miss that analog touch. Mate that with twin turbo’s 472 hp and 445 lb. ft. of torque, and you’re set to go from 0-60 mph in 3.9 seconds. The car’s responsive manual transmission, solid brake system, snappy chassis and steering feedback is simply one of the best in its class. Its cornering ability is excellent with its reactive magnetorheological dampers. It’s a wild child with details that trickle down from the bigger CT5-V Blackwing. Yet somehow, it carves a lane of its own. Given the smaller body and a really responsive powertrain, it keeps the likes of BMW and Mercedes in clear sight.
Meet a Blackwing at a light or the open road and you might get more than even its sharp looks hint. The CT4-V Blackwing’s exterior sports an aggressive hood, innovative long vertical LED lights, stylish tail lights, a duck lip spoiler, and 18-inch alloy wheels which all come together to blend both performance and luxury.
Inside the cabin, the CT4’s rear seat is small, though its front seats are adequate. Optional interior packages include leather quilted seat inserts, performance bucket seats, and steering wheel option. The performance bucket seats have such a unique look and leave very little to be desired. The infotainment system comes with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a data recording option for track runs which will record your lap time with a video overlay.
Now, to celebrate Cadillac’s success in the IMSA SportsCar Championship racing series, the 2023 CT4-V Blackwing has also gotten three limited Track Editions; the Sebring, Watkins Glen, and Road Atlanta editions, with only 99 units each.
