MB&F releases the HM8 Mark 2 a decade after the first automotive-inspired MB&F Machines began production. Designed by MB&F’s Max Büsser, the HM8 Mark 2 aims to be the most technologically evolved driver’s watch to date.
The HM8’s monobloc construction takes the best of previous automotive-inspired MB&F Machines and adds in its unique take evoking the Porsche 918 Spyder form factor. It features a Grade 5 titanium with CarbonMacrolon case, slats that open and close reminiscent of the Bertone Lamborghini Miura, a double de-clutch crown system, anti-reflective coated Sapphire crystal top, front and display back, dual reflective sapphire crystal prisms with an integrated magnifying lens, titanium buckle, and bi-directional speedometer-style jumping hours and trailing minutes display.
The HM8 Mark 2 comes in either a white or limited-edition British racing green CarbonMacrolon case, matte finished on the top and polished on the sides. The White Edition is paired with a bluish-green CVD rotor, light green minute markers, and a green calfskin strap. The British Racing Green Edition, limited to only 33 examples, comes with a red gold rotor and turquoise minute markers and a white calfskin strap.
Powering the HM8 Mark 2 is a 4Hz mechanical movement with a Girard-Perregaux base visible through the sapphire crystal and features an automatic winding function, 22K gold automatic winding rotor, 42-hour power reserve, 247 components, and 30 jewels. The HM8 Mark 2 The Green Edition only has a limited run of 33 examples, while the White Edition is unrestricted. Both White and Green Editions retail for $78,0000 each. For more information, please visit the MB&F M.A.D. Gallery online shop.
