Hodinkee’s latest collaboration with French watchmaker Trilobe is a minimalist watch straight out of a fantasy dream, the Trilobe Nuit Fantastique Limited Edition For Hodinkee. Limited to only 30 pieces, the limited edition watch is a unique take on how time is displayed, seen only on the Nuit Fantastique line.
The 38.5mm Trilobe Nuit Fantastique Limited Edition For Hodinkee features a lightweight Grade 5 titanium case construction and two distinct Guilloche patterns across the dial; the base of the dial shows an exquisite Grain d’Orge patterning, while a Clous de Paris pattern decorates the seconds’ disk. The watch also features custom-designed Roman numerals on the rotating ring surrounding the outside of the dial, silvered rotating minute and second rings, a stripped-back Trilobe ‘trefoil’ logo as an hour pointer, custom engraving XX/30 on the caseback edge, sapphire crystal with multi-layered anti-reflective treatment, and held on the wrist by a black leather strap.
Powering this watch is Trilobe’s hand-manufactured self-winding X-Centric Caliber, visible from the open caseback. Crafted in Switzerland’s La Chaux-de-Fonds by Le Cercle des Horlogers, it features an operating frequency of 4Hz, 33 functional rubies, a total of 215 components, black-gold frosted micro-blasted bridges and plates, and a 48-hour power reserve.
The Trilobe Nuit Fantastique Limited Edition For Hodinkee was available exclusively from the Hodinkee webstore. It sold out in minutes to the tune of $13,000 for each of the 30 individual examples.
