Parmigiani Fleurier, the Swiss luxury watchmaker, just released the TONDA PF SPORT collection. The new line replaces the Tonda GT in its catalog and is slightly thicker than the Tonda PF watch.
The TONDA PF SPORT debuted with two new models; the TONDA PF SPORT Chronograph and the TONDA PF SPORT Automatic. Both timepieces come in 18ct rose gold or stainless steel cases, knurled bezel with 160 incisions, Sapphire ARunic anti-reflective crystal over the dial, and a sapphire crystal back, hand- guilloche clou triangulaire pattern on the dial, the PF cartouche at the 12 0’clock position, black SuperLuminova coated indices and delta-shaped hour and minute hand tips, slightly larger screw-down crowns, Cordura-treated black rubber straps, and water resistance of up to 100 meters.
The 41mm time-and-date TONDA PF SPORT Automatic features a discrete date window at 6 o’clock and runs on the caliber PF70 movement that beats at 4Hz. It features 195 components, 29 jewels, decorated with beveled edges and Côte de Genève, 22ct rose gold, skeletonized and sand-blasted oscillating weight, and has a 60-hour power reserve. The TONDA PF SPORT Automatic 18CT Rose Gold model retails for $38,200, while the stainless steel variant costs $21,300.
The 42mm TONDA PF SPORT Chronograph, on the other hand, features hours, minutes, small seconds, date, and chronograph functions, the date window at the 4:30 position, and is powered by the caliber PF070 movement. The movement features 315 components, 42 jewels, an automatic integrated chronograph with a column wheel and vertical clutch, satin-finished open-worked bridges, hand-beveled edges, a 22ct rose gold rotor reminiscent of the steering wheel of the 60’s Ferrari 250 GTO, and a 65-hour power reserve. TONDA PF SPORT Chronograph 18CT Rose Gold model carries a $50,200 price tag, while the stainless steel version comes in at $29,000.
