Air Jordan 38 Revealed with Several New Colorways

The Jordan Brand officially unveiled the 38th entry in the Air Jordan series. The Air Jordan 38 is inspired by the Air Jordan 8, with several new colorways expected to drop over the rest of the year.

The Air Jordan 38’s design features a new X-Plate solution inspired by the straps of the Air Jordan 8, and crafted with at least 20 percent recycled content by weight, like the marbled tongue made from sock liner scraps. Other features include threaded detailing recalling Jordan’s iconic 1993 season with 41 crosshatches on the collar as an homage to his 41-point-per-game average during the Finals, three diamonds along the medial referencing the Chicago Bulls’ third franchise championship, and a full-length Zoom Strobel and Cushlon 3.0 wedge combo for the sole.

The Air Jordan 38 ‘Fundamental’ colorway in White/Black-Siren Red is expected to drop on August 18th with a retail price of $200, while the neutral-toned ‘FIBA’ colorway is scheduled to launch on September 7th, and the WNBA-focused ‘Center Star’ is due to drop on September 25th. A recently revealed ‘University Blue’ colorway in a Carolina Blue with Infrared highlights and bright yellow X-Plate underneath has yet to receive a release date though an announcement is expected over the coming weeks.
