Mr. Saturday SS24 ‘De La Nuit’ Collection Explores Dance Through the Lens of Louis XIV

Paris Fashion Week came alive for fashion and streetwear brand Mr. Saturday with its Spring/Summer 2024 collection called ‘De La Nuit.’ The collection explores Louis XIV’s influence on dance, media, and the French Revolution.

The runway show, with Canadian National Ballet principal dancer Siphesihle November acting as co-creative director, featured dancers from the Paris Opera Ballet company. The collection featured tulle detailing as a reference to Louis XIV’s influence on ballet, ‘Good Luck Only’ text detailing, modernized tailoring forms, leather garments from the Roots leather factory, and a new series of eyewear and accessories. The collection’s color palette ranged from muted earth tones, neutrals, and pops of reds and blues.

Highlight pieces in the collection includes an all-black ensemble composed of an overcoat with pearl detailing on the cuffs over a sheer shirt and slim with branding in a contrasting shade, all paired with leather trousers, a sleeveless relaxed fit top with sheer embroidery over mustard trousers, a bronze sport jacket with checkered flag detailing and red accents, a shimmering suit and over-the-knee short ensemble, a knitted blue and white oversized cardigan with red text detailing, and a fully embroidered ivory double-breasted suit.
