Six Senses Southern Dunes, The Red Sea Resort | The Ultimate Desert Oasis Experience

The second half of 2023 is set to witness the opening of the latest Six Senses hotel. Located in the Saudi Arabian desert, Six Senses Southern Dunes, The Red Sea resort is the first resort opening as part of the Red Sea Development Project that aims to explore Saudi Arabia’s Nabataean heritage and panoramic desert environs.

The Red Sea Development Project covers 10,800 square miles on Saudi Arabia’s western coast. Together with coastal and marine developments, the Six Senses Southern Dunes, The Red Sea is one of the project’s two inland locations.

Six Senses Southern Dunes, The Red Sea resort will be open all year, but October to March will offer the best time to enjoy outdoor and daytime activities like excursions, hiking, biking, jeep rides, overnight camel camping, and culturally immersive activities like dune walking with Bedouins. Other activities that will be available to guests include the Sadu Weaving cultural immersion, Earth Lab sustainability-themed workshops and dedicated sessions, local fishing tours, open-air evening Cinema Under the Stars experience, an interactive Artisan village, and cooking lessons via the in-house Cooking School.

Dining experiences at the Six Senses Southern Dunes, The Red Sea resort includes Bariya, an all-day indoor/outdoor well-being-focused dining restaurant that will serve both regional and international cuisine, the Merkaz, the hotel’s brew bar and restaurant that will offer snacks and plant-based Arabic tapas during the day, and special themed dinner menus, paired with local non-alcoholic cocktails, the Cooking School & Chef’s Table which serves as a cooking school by day and private chef’s table by night, the Pool Bar & Grill, that will offer international comfort food poolside dining, the Al Sarab signature restaurant that will serve authentic dishes from across Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Syria, Persia, and Lebanon, the Gelato Pod that will serve baked delicacies and complimentary ice cream and sorbet available throughout the day, and finally, Destination & In-villa Dining at locations in and around the resort.

Accommodations at the Six Senses Southern Dunes, The Red Sea, will include 36 guest rooms and suites surrounding the main Oasis complex, as well as 40 pool villas in strategic locations. All the rooms are designed with interiors reflecting the tones and textures of the desert vista and soft furnishings inspired by the colors and patterns of traditional Bedouin tribal fabrics. All of the hotel’s rooms offer expansive views of Saudi Arabia’s wadi and desert dunes.
