Porsche Design Chronograph 1 Utility – Limited Edition | Bridging Tradition and Innovation

Porsche Design revives the spirit of its iconic ‘Military Chronograph’ with the launch of the Chronograph 1 Utility – Limited Edition. Evoking the reliability and comfort of its predecessor, this modern iteration integrates cutting-edge technology and advanced materials, representing a perfect blend of tradition and innovation, and is poised to leave a lasting mark on the world of luxury chronographs.

The Porsche Design Chronograph 1 Utility – Limited Edition is based on Porsche Design’s iconic ‘Military Chronograph’ from the 1970s. This time around, the stainless steel case gets upgraded to a titanium carbide (TiC) case construction. The Porsche Design patented material is scratch-resistant, lightweight, and hypoallergenic, and is the first chronograph in the brand’s collection to use it.

The 42.7mm timepiece pays homage to the Military Chronograph from the 1970s. It features a sleek matte black dial, historic fonts on the three totalizers, a screaming marmot image on the dial between 4 and 5 o’clock, the ‘TiC’ logo between 1 and 2 o’clock, bright blue SuperLuminova, black day-date display, red central seconds and chrono counter hands, anti-reflective sapphire crystal, the ‘Mankei’ icon and the ‘Chronograph 1 Utility Edition’ lettering laser-engraved on the black-coated case back, individual XXX/250 limitation numbering, and 100m dynamic water-resistance. It comes with a BUND-like slate-gray calfskin strap with a quick-change mechanism and a white textile strap with the coordinates of the F.A.T. Ice Race in Zell am See that can be worn over a ski jacket.

The Porsche Design Chronograph 1 Utility – Limited Edition is powered by the Porsche Design WERK 01.240 chronograph caliber. It is COSC certified and features a flyback function, 25 jewels, hours, minutes, small seconds, day-date, and chronograph functions, 4Hz frequency, and a 38-hour power reserve.

With only 250 examples being made, the Porsche Design Chronograph 1 Utility – Limited Edition carries a retail price of $13,000, with pre-orders open now from the Porsche Design website, as well as from Porsche Design retail outlets. It will be available starting January 15, 2024.
