Bulgari Octo Finissimo Automatic Sketch Dial | 140th Anniversary Limited Edition Revealed

In a nod to both its rich history and cutting-edge innovation, Bulgari, the esteemed Italian luxury brand, unveiled the latest addition to its celebrated Octo Finissimo collection. Coinciding with the brand’s 140th anniversary, the Octo Finissimo Automatic Sketch Dial models pay homage to the legacy of Bulgari while pushing the boundaries of watchmaking craftsmanship.

Founded in 1884 by Greek silversmith Sotirio Bulgari in Rome, Bulgari has cemented its reputation as a trailblazer in haute horlogerie and jewelry. Introduced over a decade ago, the Octo Finissimo collection has emerged as a pinnacle of contemporary design and technical prowess within the industry.

The brainchild of Fabrizio Buonamassa Stigliani, Bulgari’s Product Creation Executive Director, the Octo Finissimo Automatic Sketch Dial models harken back to the brand’s roots while embracing its present. Drawing inspiration from the brand’s iconic designs, including the emblematic Serpenti, Bulgari infuses its creations with Italian flair and Swiss precision.

The Octo Finissimo Automatic Sketch Dial, available in stainless steel or 18k rose gold cases, boasts a sleek and sophisticated aesthetic characterized by a sandblasted dial adorned with a reproduction of the first hand-made sketch of the caliber BVL138 by Fabrizio Buonamassa Stigliani. It also features black PVD-coated and satin-finished hands, a sapphire crystal front, a sapphire display caseback with Edizione Limitata 1884-2024 inscription, a screw-down crown with ceramic inlay, and a 100-meter water-resistance. It comes with a satin-brushed and polished stainless steel or 18k rose gold bracelet with a concealed triple-folding clasp.

As the design alludes to, the Octo Finissimo Automatic Sketch Dial runs on the Caliber BVL138, in-house – ultra-thin automatic movement. Measuring a mere 2.23mm in height, it features a platinum micro-rotor, 36 jewels, 21,600 vibrations/hour, hours, minutes, small seconds functions, and a 60-hour power reserve.

Also teased was the Octo Finissimo Chronograph GMT BVL 318 Sketch. However, no visuals have been unveiled for this model yet. This timepiece is expected to feature an annotated illustration of the movement alongside three subdials, encased in steel and powered by the ultra-slim BCl 318 Manufacture movement. It will be released in a limited run of 140 individually numbered pieces, with a retail price of around $22,800.

The Bulgari Octo Finissimo Automatic Sketch Dial in rose gold or stainless steel will be available in a limited edition of 280 pieces in stainless steel and 70 pieces in 18k rose gold, the Octo Finissimo Automatic Sketch Dial models retails for around $19,500 for the stainless steel version and $55,820 for the rose gold iteration. Interested parties are encouraged to stay updated by visiting Bulgari’s official website or contacting authorized retailers for information on availability and release dates.
