Celebrating its 5th anniversary, the 2024 Anniversary Reiwa pays homage to the Reiwa era, initially introduced in 2019 to mark the dawn of a new age in Japan. Inspired by the tranquil allure of Ruri-Numa, the watch features a striking lapis-green metallic ring surrounding a glossy black center, reminiscent of the serene landscapes that inspired its creation.
Drawing inspiration from the captivating beauty of Fukushima’s Ruri-Numa lake. The intricate design of the Reiwa dial reflects Kurono Tokyo’s dedication to excellence, with only 5 out of 100 dials meeting the brand’s rigorous standards for production quality. Despite its complexity, the 2024 Anniversary Reiwa is a testament to Kurono Tokyo’s commitment to craftsmanship and innovation.
Encased in polished stainless steel, the 2024 Anniversary Reiwa boasts a 37mm case, housing a Miyota 90S5 automatic movement with a power reserve of 40 hours. The two-part dial, featuring a vibrant lapis-green outer ring and a deep black mirrored center, captures the essence of Ruri-Numa’s mesmerizing hues, while the hand-bent hands and intricate caseback design further showcase the watch’s attention to detail.
Powered by Japan-made Premium movement 90S5 by Miyota, the 2024 Anniversary Reiwa offers precision and reliability, with 24 jewels and a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour. The open balance wheel at 5 o’clock adds a touch of sophistication to the timepiece, making it a true masterpiece of horological engineering.
The 2024 Anniversary Reiwa, priced at $1,790 USD, will be available for pre-order starting May 16th at 7 AM PST, exclusively through the official Kurono Tokyo website. With a limited production run, shipments are scheduled between June and August 2024.
