Waiting For Ideas, the Paris-based design studio, has revealed its first vinyl turntable, featuring its signature modern aesthetic.
The studio has been merging art and design to create visually striking and thought-provoking pieces since 2021. The studio embraces a minimalist approach for the turntable, carving the device from a solid aluminum block to create a meditative listening experience. The device has no control center or tone arm and instead uses innovative technology to automatically detect the record’s speed. Users simply have to place the vinyl upside down, connect, and press play.
A custom speaker set complements the experience, offering dynamic configuration options. It can be stacked with the player on top or arranged side by side for a classic setup.
This release by Waiting For Ideas joins a growing wave of design-driven audio equipment, where turntables and speakers are being reimagined as sculptural objects.
