Ressence unveils two limited-edition art watches created in collaboration with German artist Daniel Engelberg. The TYPE 8 DE1 and TYPE 8 DE2 timepieces, with their lively color palettes, blend Engelberg’s color-rich aesthetic with Ressence’s design-forward philosophy.
Each watch is inspired by Engleberg’s ‘Inside Out’ series, known for its use of concentric circles and illusion of depth. The TYPE 8 DE1 features a pink palette, while the DE2 is finished in vibrant turquoise. The timepieces are equipped with Ressence’s patented Orbital Convex System (ROCS) technology, enabling the dials to orbit in fluid motion, transforming time into an artistic experience.
The watches feature a polished Grade 5 titanium case, measuring 42.9 mm in diameter. The dial is also made of Grade 5 titanium and includes engraved indicators filled with blue Grade A Super-LumiNova.
Each model comes with a matching soft rubber strap, pink for the TYPE DE1 and blue-green for the TYPE DE2. A complementary blue leather strap offers a more refined styling option. The watch is completed with a titanium ardillon buckle.
These wearable artworks continue Ressence’s long-standing dialogue with the art world, following collaborations with Shantell Martin, Stefan Sagmeister, and Alain Silberstein. According to Benoît Mintiens, Ressence’s founder and creative mind, ‘It’s a perfect example of two universes working together organically.’
The TYPE 8 Daniel Engelberg will be available in August 2025. Each timepiece is limited to 40 examples and available for CHF 19,000 (excluding taxes) through Ressence’s website and select global retailers.
