RIMOWA and Vitra have partnered to launch two limited-edition products: the Aluminum Stool and the Aluminum Toolbox. Inspired by the ‘rhythm of modern life,’ both pieces reflect both brands’ expertise with aluminum craftsmanship.
The two pieces are designed to be multifunctional and mobile. The stool features RIMOWA’s signature grooved outer shell and a Multiwheel system, allowing it to move easily while doubling as storage or a comfy seat by placing an upholstered pad on the top. Vitra’s influence is evident in the interior, which is upholstered with fabric and features organized storage compartments.
The toolbox is based on Vitra’s 2010 design by Ari Levy. In this version, the recycled plastic body is replaced with RIMOWA’s signature anodized aluminium. Similar to the stool, the compartments of the toolbox are lined with recycled fabric.
Both pieces are jointly manufactured at RIMOWA and Vitra’s factories in Cologne and Weil am Rhein. Only 100 pieces of the Aluminum Toolbox will be released, while the Aluminum Stool is limited to 1000 pieces. They will launch on June 18th, accompanied by an installation on the Vitra Campus.
The toolbox will retail for €550, and the stool will retail at €2,200, available exclusively in Europe via RIMOWA’s website, Vitra’s website, and at selected flagships worldwide.
