BMW recently sent their new M2 to the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, with the result being some killer shots of the new sport coupe. As a refresher, the new BMW M2 comes fitted with a 3.0-liter turbocharged I6 engine that dishes out 365 horsepower and 343 pound-feet of torque. It’s offered up in both a DCT transmission as well as a 6-speed manual for those that enjoy ringing through the gears. And needless to say, it’s a proper M. In fact, it borrows a lot of components from the M3/M4 platform. The interior isn’t as refined as the M3 or M4, but there has to be some level of aspiration when it comes to opting for an M2 or one of its higher-priced brethren. For those wondering, the M2 starts at just $52,695. That’s a substantial bang for all the fun you’re getting in a compact sports car. And if we were in the market, we’d definitely be considering this paint finish, what BMW calls “Long Beach Blue”. Holy. Check out the imagery below and look out for the M2 at BMW dealers nationwide very very soon.
