BMW 2002 Hommage Shows Up at Villa d’Este

From BMW comes their BMW 2002 Hommage concept that’s debuted at this weekend’s Concorso d’Eleganza at Villa d’Este. It’s got a futuristic design that’s pulling inspiration directly from the iconic 2002 of the 60’s and 70’s. It’s been tastefully fitted with classic livery like on the M tri-color front splitter that’s also got “obrut” faded atop signifying the reversed text on the original ’02 Turbo. With this year being the German automaker’s centennial, seems like it’s a lot about the past meeting the future. So with that, we see some carbon-fiber detailing at the beltline in place of the original 2002’s chrome trimmings. Look for flared fenders, off-center rounder at the back plus a ducktail spoiler. The snowflake wheels are a modern touch to a concept that’s hit a ton of iconic details to perfection.

Though not slated for production, this is another Hommage from BMW that we’ll hopefully be seeing in the months ahead at various events. If anything, it gives us a hint as to what to expect from the automaker in the next 100 years.
