A lot of great things are coming out of this past weekend’s Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este in Lake Como, Italy and BMW had plenty to show off including this Hommage rework of their iconic R5 motorcycle. Originally available from the 1930’s to 1950’s, the R5 was inspired by the famous 500cc factory racing machine of 1935. This one actually uses an original yet damaged 500cc two-cylinder engine. And it’s hard to believe that every other bit was hand-crafted from scratch. The engine’s also got a supercharger with other mods including a newly built stainless steel exhaust system, new rear wheel suspension and piston brake system. Check out some shots of the R5 Hommage on display at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este in the gallery above.
