The 2021 Audi RS 6 Avant is the Daily Driver for Supercar Owners

The new Audi RS6 Avant ushers in a new chapter in the history of the high-performance Avant. New to the US market, the RS 6 Avant is everything you’d want and Lord knows Audi diehards have been dying for it to land stateside. The RS6 is fast and powerful, and with looks that command attention. With a $109,000 MSRP, it’s the right vehicle for anyone who wants to experience a ton of utility, performance and versatility. If a supercar’s already in your stable, then the all-new 2021 Audi RS 6 Avant will make a strong case to be your daily driver.

The Audi RS 6 Avant is downright beautiful, if beauty came in the form of a tiger that’s ready to pounce at a moment’s notice. It’s proportioned and contours and bends in all the right places. The color options help the details shine through with the RS6 Avant coming in Glacier White metallic, Navarra Blue Metallic, Nardo Gray, Tango Red metallic, and others. Our time was spent in a Tango Red iteration. The interior is not nearly as striking as the exterior and we’ve never expected it to be. The seats are covered in Valcona leather with a honeycomb pattern to match the structure of key parts of the athletic exterior. The cabin sports some RS6-specific enhancements, but mostly resembles the standard A6. Twin touchscreens occupy the center console and a 12.3-inch display replaces the traditional gauges. All in all, it’s exactly what we’ve come to expect from Audi — intuitive, performance-leaning with a clean, minimalist layout. Though the screens dominate the cabin experience, I still see it all aging well, especially with periodic software updates and the sort helping to keeping things current.

While Audi’s RS line tends to be aggressive in the front, the real action for the RS 6 Avant is in the back. With that trunk lid popped open, you can easily toss in what you can think of and hit the road. Skis, kids’ sports equipment, an entire sneaker collection. You name it and chances the RS 6 Avant can accommodate.

What some might say it lacks in interior appeal, it makes up for in comfort. Even though it boasts massive 22-inch wheels, the RS6 is a smooth ride with surprising stability. Thanks to some impressive suspension performance, the cabin remains quiet. The front seats offer spectacular support and there’s plenty of room in the back with legroom that maxes out at 37.4 inches.

Unsurprisingly, the RS6 combines smart technology and sophisticated hardware for peak driving performance. The RS is fitted with Audi’s Tiptronic transmission, which effortlessly transfers the engine’s ginormous power to its Quattro AWD for maximum stability and control. The system can use selective torque control and even split torque between each wheel.
