Lucid Air Sapphire Gets 1,200 HP and Beautiful, Confident Design Cues

Revealed at the Monterey Car Week, the Lucid Air Sapphire introduces a whole new level of performance with a three-motor powertrain that can churn out over 1,200 HP and go from 0 to 60mph in under two seconds.

Lucid says the Sapphire can reach a top speed of 200 mph and provide a torque vectoring effect through its rear drive unit. Similar to other rear-wheel drive cars, the supercar brings regenerative braking for a quicker turn-in and increased rotation.

On top of the speed, Sapphire gives drivers unique tuning with its stability control, electric power steering, traction control, and ABS. It is fitted with larger wheels and tires, 265-section-width at the front and 295-section-width at the back. It sports specifically-developed Michelin Pilot Sport 4S rubber paired with new wheels that feature carbon fiber aero disc covers to improve its drag coefficient.

Inside, the manufacturer installed 18-way power sport seats with Sapphire blue stitching – still with heating, cooling, and massage features. It has new drive modes plus performance-focused menus.

Lucid Air Sapphire is a limited-edition model with a price tag of $249,000, not including the destination charge. Deliveries are set to begin next year.
