Leica Summilux-M 35 f/1.4 is a Classic Reborn

Leica released the first “Steel Rim” Summilux-M 35mm F1.4 lens in 1961 before replacing it with a new aspherical model in 1995. This 2022, a re-release is unveiled with a non-aspherical vintage design.

The new Leica Summilux-M 35 f/1.4 stays true to the original design and retains the seven elements in five groups, with a 10-bladed aperture diaphragm of the first release, the stainless steel “Steel Rim” front ring, lockable focus ring, and the black attachable lens hood.

What was changed this time around is the second, round lens hood with E46 thread that allows the use of filters. The Leica Summilux-M 35 f/1.4 is available now through B&H and other retailers.
