Carhartt WIP Magazine Issue 8 Now Out

Michigan-based workwear brand Carhartt Work In Progress is slowly solidifying its foray into its expanding publishing portfolio with issue 8 of WIP Magazine, this time focusing on the city and what a modern metropolis can be.

The eighth issue has TikTok musical sensation Fousheé gracing the cover. Aside from an editorial article on the talented New Jersey native, the magazine also features articles on Italy’s forgotten architectural riches, injury rehab systems for skaters, a spotlight on LA-based sculptor Diana Yesenia Alvarado, and NYC’s BlackMass Publishing imprint.

In line with the issue’s broader theme, the magazine also has a series of interviews that looks at the city through the eyes of illicit bike couriers, Tokyo graffiti writers, Cruising Pavilion’s curators, and novelist Michael Magee.

Other content includes essays on NYC skaters’ appropriation of cellar doors, an introspective on the art hub of Marfa, Texas, a skate feature by Steffen Grap with Berlin as a backdrop, a glimpse into the musical identity of Motor City’s HiTech and its roots in the Ghettotech genre, a look into the Paris’s REX Club archives, Laurent Garnier tells about how cooking informed his latest album, and editorials by UK-based photographer Matt Moran and Barcelona’s Rafa Castells.Carhartt’s WIP magazine issue 08 is now available at select global retailers, as well as from the Carhartt WIP webstore and retail stores.
