In a culmination of a six-year collaboration, Ressence, in partnership with luxury retailer Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons, unveiled the much-anticipated Ressence Type 1° DX3 at the prestigious Dubai Watch Week. This limited edition timepiece is the final chapter in a trilogy that pays homage to Arabic Geometric Art, celebrating the rich cultural tapestry of the Arabic world.
The 42.7mm Ressence Type 1° DX3, the concluding masterpiece of the trilogy, takes inspiration from Girih, the Arab Geometric Art, presenting a desert-inspired color scheme on a copper-tone dial adorned with rose motifs.
The watch’s design is based on the T1° Round and features a distinctive pebble-shaped case crafted from polished grade 5 titanium, the absence of a traditional crown replaced by a retractable lever on the caseback, a double-domed sapphire crystal top with anti-reflective coating inside, a convex German silver dial with cloisonné art with Super-LumiNova and coated with rose gold inspired by Arab Geometric Art, brushed titanium rotating caseback for adjustment and winding, and a 10m splash resistance. It comes with a beige rubber strap and an ardillon buckle.
The Ressence Type 1° DX3 is powered by the patented ROCS 1.3, the Ressence Orbital Convex System module driven by the minute axle of a customized 2892 base caliber movement. It delivers both automatic and hand winding and drives the perpetual motion of sub-dials and main discs. It features 40 jewels and 27 gears, vibrates at 28,800 vph, and has a 36-hour power reserve.
Additionally, each purchase includes Ressence’s first book, ‘Arts & Crafts in Motion,’ providing insights into the genesis and fusion of Arab Geometric Art and Horological Decorative Art within the captivating DX trilogy.
