Leica Camera AG recently announced its latest compact camera, the Leica D-Lux 8. The newest entry in Leica’s compact line will be available globally on July 2nd. This new addition continues Leica’s legacy of providing top-quality digital compact cameras.
Since 2003, the Leica D-Lux series has set the standard for compact cameras. Over eight generations and several special editions, the D-Lux cameras have earned a reputation for quality and portability. The new D-Lux 8 takes this legacy further, introducing modern features and a user-friendly interface inspired by Leica’s popular Q-Cameras.
The Leica D-Lux 8 is built for both amateur photographers and professionals looking for a high-performing compact camera. It features a 4/3” CMOS sensor that captures detailed images with a 22 MP resolution (17 MP effective). The fast Leica DC Vario-Summilux 10.9-34 f/1.7-2.8 ASPH. lens, equivalent to a 24-75mm lens in a 35mm camera, captures sharp photos in various lighting conditions.
A notable addition is the ability to shoot in the DNG format, giving photographers more flexibility when editing their photos. The D-Lux 8 also includes a high-resolution 2.36M dot OLED viewfinder and a 1.84M dot rear screen, making it easier to compose and review shots.
Designed for comfort and ease, the D-Lux 8 features repositioned controls and an intuitive interface. It also connects seamlessly with the Leica FOTOS app, allowing for easy sharing and remote control. Thanks to a USB-C socket, charging is convenient, too.
The D-Lux 8 has a powerful on-camera flash, and Leica offers various accessories, including hand grips, straps, leather protectors, and different types of bags.
The Leica D-Lux 8, priced at $1,595, will be readily available from July 2nd at Leica Stores, the Leica Online Store, and through authorized dealers worldwide. Interested buyers can register on the official Leica website to stay updated on its availability.
