Telepathic Instruments Unveils The Orchid, Led By Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker

Kevin Parker is renowned for his musical work under Tame Impala; however, he has stepped into the tech world with his new company, Telepathic Instruments, which he co-founded with partners Ignacio Germade, Chris Adams, Charl Laubscher, and Tom Cosm.

The company is set to release its first product, The Orchid, a portable ‘idea machine’ featuring a digital poly synthesizer. It is crafted for musicians and producers of all experience levels.

The device includes five stylistic modes: Arpeggiator, Harp, Slop, Strum, and Pattern. Users can repitch and reposition various chord voices on a full keyboard scale with The Orchid.

The Orchid also includes reverb, chorus, and delay features to add more sonic textures. Additionally, it includes the Loop feature, which is ideal for developing ideas and arrangements and can then be exported into production software using a MIDI cable.

Telepathic Instruments will launch The Orchid in December 2024 in a limited run of 1000 units. Each sample, priced at $549, is available through the company’s official website.
