fragment design and Casio have teamed up to produce a special rendition of the Casiotone CT-S1 electronic keyboard. Originally a staple in Casio’s ‘80s electronic music lineup, this reissue features houndstooth-patterned speakers and several signature fragment design branding elements.
The keyboard showcases a timeless black-and-white color scheme, with co-branded text on the right side and the fragment’s signature double lightning bold logo positioned above the C8 key. The tuning knobs are now all black, unlike the original Casiotone, which featured a light grey base with a multi-colored control system.
The fragment design x Casiotone CT-S1 includes 12 ‘Casio Classic’ tones inspired by the brand’s different electronic instruments and 10 new ‘Advanced Tones’ sourced from the keyboard’s modern AiX sound engine. It also boasts a horizontal bass reflex mechanism with rich and dynamic sound.
The keyboard will be available starting January 16th at fragment design’s founder Hiroshi Fujiwara’s VA (Various Artists) store and website. It’s priced at ¥71,500 JPY (approximately $453 USD).
