De Bethune unveils two exceptional timepieces, the DB25Vxs Monopusher Chronograph and the DB28GS Swordfish. These latest additions embody the brand’s commitment to innovation and traditional craftsmanship.
The DB25Vxs is the fourth monopusher chronograph released by De Bethune. It blends historical inspiration from watches from the 18th century with contemporary precision. The minimalistic dial includes a 60-minute counter at 6 o’clock with a barleycorn guilloché pattern, subtly contrasting with the silver hand-engraved background. The numerals, minute track, indicator, and titanium chronograph hand are in De Bethune’s signature blue color.
The DB25Vxs’ 40 mm case is crafted from mirror-polished grade 5 titanium and integrates a coaxial chronograph pusher into the crown at 3 o’clock. At its core is the DB3000 caliber, featuring an ultra-thin column wheel, a titanium and white gold balance wheel, a silicon escape wheel, a flat terminal curved hairspring, and an instantaneous 60-minute counter.
The second timepiece, the DB28GS Swordfish, is a 44 mm diving watch that offers enhanced legibility even in low-light conditions thanks to luminescent-tipped hands and De Bethune’s manual lighting system. This purely mechanical innovation illuminates the dial without electronics or batteries. Unlike traditional dive watches, this timepiece features a bezel that rotates the sapphire crystal, which reads the immersion time.
The Swordfish offers a new bi-chromatic interpretation with a case crafted from black zirconium, Grade 5 titanium, and DLC-treated stainless steel. These materials emphasize the depth of the black, which is surrounded by subtle blue elements.
Powering the Swordfish is the DB2080 movement that boasts water resistance to a depth of 100 meters. This movement includes a double-barrel self-regulating system with a 5-day power reserve, a titanium/grey gold balance wheel, and a flat terminal curve hairspring. The movement is protected by a triple shock absorber system featuring a titanium bridge with two shock absorbers and a central damper.
The DB25Vxs Monopusher Chronograph and the DB28GS Swordfish reaffirm De Bethune’s position at the forefront of watchmaking. The DB25Vxs is priced at $90,000 while the DB28GS is priced at $120,000. For more details, visit the brand’s website.
