Carlos Campos presented his Fall 2015 collection during New York Fashion Week this week, giving us a lineup that’s inspired by Spanish graphic artist and art director Rafafans. The artist is known for creating dreamlike images in the form of collages and photomontages through playful interpretation, deeply rooted in textural and color interplay. Taking that, Campos is pushing a lineup that really focuses on the transformative powers of art to change perception, primarily in the eye of the beholder. The New York-based designer commented, “My designs this season leverage the power of texture and shape to appear different depending on the viewing angle. You could say that this fall for me, texture is the new black.” One of our favorite pieces is the deep navy hybrid raglan bomber coat that you’ll see worn over a gray pinstripe suit. Another one to look out for is the silk bomber with contrast silhouette motif. And the suiting in this collection can’t be ignored either. They’re actually cut just as you’d expect but are cropped to give it a real edge. Look for the Carlos Campos Fall 2015 collection to hit select retailers in the late spring.
