Snarkitecture Presents Giant Candy Canes at Miami Art Week 2015

Snarkitecture's Candy Cane Sculptures at Miami Art Week-01

Miami Art Week 2015 is just around the corner, and you can bet Snarkitecture will have a part in it. The design firm’s contribution comes in the form of abstracted, exaggerated Christmas candy canes – after all, ’tis the season. Entitled ‘Holiday,’ the sculpture consists of four artistically-twisted candy canes, each roughly 30 feet long and 3 feet in diameter. This makes the candy canes to scale, only scaled up 75 times the size we’ve come to know and love.

Located at the Miami Design District’s Palm Court and Paseo Ponti, the giant all-white candy canes double as places of rest for the holiday shoppers who frequent the location’s luxury shops. Produced locally in South Florida and made of sturdy fiberglass and foam, the candy canes are inscribed accordingly to replicate the unmistakable red stripes. Visitors can see Snarkitecture’s work starting today, and they’ll be around until Miami Art Week culminates on Dec 6, 2015.
