With shops now in New York, Dubai and Shanghai, Concepts has become an international fixture for fashion and street culture. But Boston is and always will be home for Deon Point and Company. Their latest project pays homage to another Boston fixture — its iconic marathon. Not only is the Boston Marathon one of the world’s oldest races, it’s also one of the most challenging. And with the adidas Originals ZX-9000 CONCEPTS, we get a tried and tested silhouette with details inspired by the mylar recovery blankets used to keep runners warm after they complete the run.
The upper’s made with almost entirely highly-reflective foiled silver leather and finished with tri-color stripes and multi-color branded laces. The silhouette is a classic runner and was originally released by in 1988. Featuring the brand’s Torsion System, the tech delivers lightweight arch support for independent movement of the forefoot and rearfoot. The end result is better surface adaption and stability.
