NYFW | Marni Captures the Sunset with SS23 Collection

Marni graced the New York Fashion Week runway with the SS23 Vol.2 collection, painted by Flaminia Veronesi.

Presented in poetry, the collection captures how every sunset is sunrise for somebody else. The collection explores and understands other perspectives and connects with different people in deeper ways. And these learnings certainly contaminate the creation processes, resulting in more exciting and pure collections.

Like a rainbow, you can’t chase it.

Like a train; you catch it by standing still.

Like a memory, it appears, only as it fades away.

Like the future; it disappears, by its very growing near.

So it should be concluded; the sunset is not a phenomenon of the sun – taking place on the horizon; but a phenomenon of the body – setting the sky on fire.

But like a sunset,

Like a rainbow,

Like a future,

It won’t happen without you.

The color palette goes from soft to warm – combined, mixed, and textured to create an impact. From underwear to super coats, each look is an invitation to dress in sunlight.

Marni tapped Dev Hynes for the score performed by The String Orchestra of Brooklyn as the brand made its NYFW debut. Swipe through our gallery for the lookbook.
