The Japanese watch manufacturer and the East Coast prep-wear clothing brand collaborate again with this year’s Rowing Blazers x Seiko 5 Sports watches collection. Designed by vintage watch expert Eric Wind and Rowing Blazers Creative Director Jack Carlson in collaboration with Seiko, taking design cues from Carlson’s personal 1970 Seiko ref. 6106-7107 Sport Diver.
Based on the SRPJ61 diver watch, this year’s collection features four variants with different solid-color dials in green, blue, orange, and black. Three of those sport lumed gray hour markers and candy cane second hands, while the black dial version hour markers are just as colorful. The watches also sport steel bracelets, monogrammed crowns, and a Rowing Blazer’s Derry Bones “Tempus Fugit” motif on the caseback.
Powering the new Rowing Blazers x Seiko 5 Sports watches is the Caliber 4R36 automatic movement that runs at 21,600vph with about 41 hours of power reserve. The limited edition watches also include an additional, specially-designed nylon strap and comes in a special-edition co-branded presentation box. Each Rowing Blazers x Seiko 5 Sports Watch 2022 Limited Edition variant has only 888 pieces available and costs $495 per piece from the Rowing Blazers website.
