TAG Heuer and Hodinkee partner up to launch the TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Seafarer × Hodinkee Limited Edition Timepiece. The watch pays tribute to TAG Heuer’s rich history while incorporating subtle modern modifications.
The TAG Heuer Carrera Seafarer Limited Edition For Hodinkee timepiece’s design is inspired by the iconic Abercrombie & Fitch Seafarer. It retains the 1968 color palette and bezel design with a modern twist. It has a 42mm Carrera ‘Glassbox’ case instead of an Autavia case, where the domed sapphire crystal mirrors the vintage plexiglass look, offering more durability and clarity.
It has a black opaline dial featuring sky blue and royal blue accents on the Regatta and Tide subdials. The black opaline finish is also present on the bezel, which is moved into the rehaut, similar to the original Seafarer.
The TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Seafarer × Hodinkee incorporates both old and new logo fonts to artfully blend historic and contemporary design elements. A vintage-inspired blocky font is used for the logo on the sub-register at 6, while TAG Heuer’s present-day logo is positioned at 12 o’clock. The watch is completed with a black textured rubber strap.
Hodinkee has produced 968 pieces of this limited edition luxury watch to celebrate the final year of the Seafarer. Each piece is priced at $7,950, 125 pieces will be available through the Hodinkee Shop, while the remaining pieces can be purchased from the TAG Heuer website or the brand’s retail stores and boutiques worldwide.
