Audemars Piguet Unveils Code 11.59 Selfwinding Flying Tourbillon Chronograph Shades Of Grey Timepiece
Audemars Piquet released numerous timepieces for its Code 11.59 collection in the past five years. Now, the brand introduces the latest addition to the collection, the Audemars Piguet Code 11.59 Selfwinding Flying Tourbillon Chronograph Shades Of Grey watch.
The timepiece stands out because of its striking dial, which features geometric patterns and strong lines mainly provided by the 3 Hz Caliber 2952 design. The dial features a gradient that transitions from light gray to black, complemented by pink-gold and magenta accents. The flying tourbillon’s pink gold balance wheel at 6 o’clock complements the pink gold hands at the center and on the transparent chronograph counters at 3 and 9 o’clock. At 12 o’clock, a black barrel bridge is present, which blends into the blackened mainplate. A slate gray, semi-matte, circular-snailed inner bezel with a white printed seconds scale completes the dial.
A 41 mm white gold and black ceramic case houses the open-worked dial and movement. White gold is also featured in other components, such as the caseback ring, ultra-thin bezel, and skeletonized lugs, while black ceramic forms the octagonal middle case and winding crown.
The case is 13.8mm thick, water resistant to 30 meters, and furnished with Code 11.59’s characteristic double curved (and glare-proof) sapphire crystal. A dark-gray weave-pattern rubber-coasted strap with an 18k white gold folding clasp completes the watch.
While the Audemars Piguet Code 11.59 Selfwinding Flying Tourbillon Chronograph has received scrutiny from enthusiasts, this latest iteration has undeniable charisma due to its somber colorway and complex design.
