Porsche unveiled an exclusive Sonderwunsch 911 Dakar to celebrate the conclusion of its limited-run 911 Dakar production. The one-of-a-kind, highly customized vehicle was commissioned for an Italian collector of sports cars.
The 911 Dakar was introduced in November 2022. It reimagined the sports car experience with its off-road capabilities, elevated ground clearance 50 mm higher than the 911 Carrera, and distinct design. It features red, forged aluminum recovery eyelets at the front and rear and widened wheel arches and sills. Moreover, the 911 Dakar delivers remarkable performance thanks to its three-liter twin-turbo six-cylinder engine that produces 480 PS (353 kW) and a maximum torque of 570 Nm.
The special example of the 911 Dakar has undergone the full Sonderwunsch treatment, which includes unique three-tone paintwork featuring Signalyellow, Gentianbluemetallic, and a custom shade named Lampedusablue. The colors create a design that reflects the winning 1984 Paris-Dakar Rally car. The artistry also extends to the alloy wheels, where the spokes are painted in Signalyellow while the rim edge features Lampedusablue. The LED Matrix headlights also feature Lampedusablue accents.
Inside, the bespoke treatment continues with yellow accents on the stitching and trim strips on the center console, dashboard, and door panels. Speedyellow thread is also used to embroider ‘911 Dakar’ lettering on the Sports Seats Plus headrests, while the eight-speed PDK gear selector includes a Speedyellow leather insert. Adding another exclusive touch, LED projectors cast the Sonderwunsch logo onto the ground when the doors open.
This unique Sonderwunsch 911 Dakar is currently at the Porsche Museum before it heads to its new home. Visitors and car enthusiasts can view this exclusive model in person alongside other Porsche creations. For more information, visit the brand’s website.
