Giamaro Automobili Debuts Katla With A 6,988 CC Quad-Turbo V12

Giamaro Automobili has revealed its first production vehicle, Katla, a fully in-house developed hypercar featuring a V12 quad-turbo engine, a carbon-fibre monocoque, adaptive suspension, and an aviation-inspired cockpit.

Katla’s engine is a 6,988 cc, 120° hot-V quad-turbo V12, which produces 1,670 PS at 8,500 rpm and 1,556 Nm of torque. In its most extreme configuration, it surges to 2,157 PS at 9,000 rpm and 2,008 Nm of torque. The engine is mid-mounted in a longitudinal layout, paired with a rear transaxle to achieve 42:58 weight distribution.

The vehicle’s aerodynamic profile achieves a drag coefficient of 0.33. A variable-load rear wing actively adjusts in real time based on speed, trajectory, and lateral forces. It maximizes downforce and also acts as an aerodynamic brake during deceleration. Design features include square front intakes, LED DRLs, and a dash that mirrors the bonnet to visually connect exterior and interior design elements.

The chassis is a carbon-fibre monocoque weighing just 170 kg. It delivers over 40 kNm/deg of torsional rigidity and more than 16 kN/mm of flexural stiffness. All suspension components, including double wishbones, arms, uprights, third-element links, and rear supports, are CNC-machined from 6062 T6 aluminum alloy. The suspension system is fully active and electronically adjustable with real-time damping controls and automatic ride height adjustment.

Inside, Katla’s cockpit is inspired by aviation, with the central console resembling a fighter jet’s command panel with all key functions within immediate reach. Materials such as carbon fiber, aluminum, and refined textile weaves are selected for performance and to immerse the driver in its high-performance environment.
