NOT A HOTEL, a Japanese hospitality startup, has collaborated with renowned fashion designer NIGO to launch their new cliffside getaway in Tokyo Bay. NIGO is spearheading the creative direction of this vacation home, overseeing every aspect, from the concept to the design details.
Starting from the interior, the hotel’s living room has floor-to-ceiling windows offering stunning views of Mount Fuji. The room features a curated selection of vintage furniture pieces from Jean Prouvé and Pierre Jeanneret. It also includes a spacious dining room that accommodates up to 12 guests and has a fully functional kitchen. Moreover, a dedicated listening room is present, complete with high-quality speakers from New York’s OJAS.
The house includes several bedrooms, a sauna, and a wooden Japanese bath, ensuring that multiple guests can unwind and rejuvenate. A traditional tea room is also available for the sadō tea ceremony.
Outside, NIGO’s signature touch is evident with the presence of a giant inflatable duck, referencing his HUMAN MADE brand. As an avid collector, NIGO plans to decorate the rooftop with a giant Japanese KAWS statue.
