Google’s just added voice and video chat capabilities to Gmail and boy are we excited. Guess we’ll be ditching AIM sooner than we expected. We’ve already got the option to integrated AIM into Gmail chat.
Just download the Gmail voice and chat plug-in and install it. Then sign into Gmail and in the chat section of your Gmail, select the contact you want to call. If they have a camera icon you can make a voice or video call to them. It’s okay if you don’t because you can have 1-way video or voice or just send them a link to invite them to download the plug-in.
We’re assuming Facebook’s following suit not too far from now.
